Flower power

These are almond shortbread cookies. I decorated them with fondant flowers and sprinkled some sugar on top. Although not perfect they came quite cute. The smaller cookies were eaten by me. Instead of feeling less guilty cause they were small though I ended up eating more and feeling more guilty. Not a good idea :) Next time I ll stick to normal sized ones only.

Yes, it's definitely possible to use fresh pumpkin. Just search the internet to find how to cook & puree it. It will probably be BETTER! :)

  23. Wow those cookies are amazing! I aspire to be able to decorate like that! Thanks for visiting my blog. I've looked in to a good substitution for molasses and I think you'd want to be careful about using black treacle because I believe it is much stronger. I'm actually not sure what an appropriate substitution would be, perhaps maple syrup, although the flavor and consistency are both different. Or you might try a dark honey, as I've seen gingerbread recipes that use honey and not molasses. Hope that helps!
