Cookie day

Today i felt like making cookies. I didn't have any chocolate chips so I serched for oatmeal cookes. I found this cookie recipe in the comments section here http://bakingbites.com/2007/09/cornflake-cookies/. These are called Dishpan cookies. They re crunchy with a chewy centre.

Dishpan Cookies
2 cups brown sugar

2 cups white sugar

2 cups cooking oil

4 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

4 cups flour

2 teaspoons soda

1/2 teaspoons salt

1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats

4 cups corn flakes

Cream together first 5 ingredients. Add flour, soda, and salt into first mixture. Fold in oats, then corn flakes. Drop onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 6 to 8 minutes. Do not overcook.

This makes quite a big batch. I made about 1/4 of the recipe.

I decorated thiese cookies with some edible rice flowers.

Dear Natalie

Your cakes are very good and wonderfully decorated. They look oh so delicious and .... full of calories :) (according to my naughty dad).

However keep on doing them as I love seeing them on your blog (and having the occasional taste).

LOVE FROM GABY

Hi love your blog...just found you on News from France (Leesa).

My fathers family came from Malta, unfortunately they have all passed away, except for my cousins son, who is in the Police Force there.

I have other cousins but they live in different countries.

My father used to live in Hamrun, my aunt and uncle lived Birkirkara, and my cousin lived in Attard. She used to work in a big university there but unfortunately she passed away a few years ago, so my fathers family is now nearly all gone. Such a shame, as I really didn;t get to know them until they were old.
